If you are at the planning stages of a new kitchen your final finish selection will be determined by your budget and the style you are after. Here are 3 cabinetry finishes to consider before making your final selection.

Laminate:

Laminate is a suitable finish for your kitchen cabinets especially if you are on a tight budget. These days laminates are available in an extensive range of colours, textures and woodgrains. This range allows you to express your individual style and you are able to achieve endless looks for your new kitchen. It is worth spending a few dollars extra for the addition of ABS edging seals, as it seals the edges of the laminate doors and drawers. This will increase the longevity of your laminated kitchen. Polytec have an extensive range of cabinetry laminates https://www.polytec.com.au

This kitchens island bench demonstrates the versatility of laminate in a woodgrain finish, designed by F & F Construction.

Two-Pack:

A two-pack finish is a baked enameled finish that can be specified in any colour or finish from matt to high gloss. A two-pack can be 20% more expensive than laminate. One disadvantage of a two-pack finish is that it can chip. Although chipping occurs it can be resprayed and still look good as new!

This contemporary streamlined kitchen demonstrates a two-pack cabinetry finish in two chosen colours. It features mitered handles which can only be achieved using this product. This kitchen has been designed by Silvia Rajek Interiors.

Veneer:

Veneers are thin decorative slices of wood applied to boards and then sealed with a clear two-pack finish. Veneers can start at a similar price to two-pack and then increase depending on the species of timber chosen. Veneers will add a natural warmth and beauty to your kitchen. It is advisable to add a matching ABS protected edging to your veneer kitchen cabinets. Briggs Veneers have an extensive range of veneers suitable for customised cabinetry https://www.briggs.com.au

This contemporary kitchen demonstrates an appealing warmth generated by using wood veneer finishes. Designed by Zest Interior Design.
