With a growing family quite often we feel that our homes are bursting at the seams and we feel frustrated when we can’t find personal belongings. Make your home run more smoothly by implementing these practical storage ideas.

(1) Redesign you’re existing cupboards

You can easily maximise your existing storage by pulling out your old shelves and installing a new internal storage system. For instance pantry shelves can be replaced with touch open drawers and will provide more storage than shelves. Hopefully this idea will reduce your need to go grocery shopping as often.

(2) Select clever furniture

With my family, I have discovered that it is practical to select furniture that has built-in storage. There are a variety of clever beds with storage available in the bed base and you can even buy a bed where the top mattress lifts up.

(3) Customised cabinetry

Customised cabinetry is worth considering especially if you wish to maximise the storage in a room.  It is designed specifically to suit your storage requirements. For our small TV room, I designed a cupboard to fit under our staircase and the internal configuration was designed to store books, games, dvd’s, and our air conditioning unit.
