Over the last 6 months I have been in the process of designing a bedroom for my 11 year old daughter Lara. I must be honest with you this has been quite a challenging exercise because we cannot agree on anything for her room.
I have been trying to talk her out of having dark grey walls in a small, dark south facing room. She still won’t budge on this idea, so we have reached a compromise to have a grey feature wall behind her bed.
It has taken me a while to realise that ultimately Lara’s room should reflect her own personal taste and needs. A room that is not too girly and feels sophisticated and luxurious to suit her teenage years. A room that is cool to hang out with friends, a restful place to sleep, and zone to do homework in.
After visiting Lilly & Lolly at Rosebery, I feel inspired and excited to select all of the items for Lara’s room. They have an amazing range of customised furnishings for all kids, even tweens!
I selected a linen bedhead, a desk with matching bedside table, a circular mirror, floating shelves, and gorgeous linen. I really can’t wait to run this selection past Lara, let’s hope she likes it!
I am looking forward to sharing Lara’s new room with you, so watch this space.
