I just got home from Sydney Indesign and feel positively exhilarated by all of the new and exciting products that I saw today. Sydney Indesign is an annual event across the Asia Pacific, where designers discover new and exciting Australian designed products and have the opportunity to attend seminars and listen to prominent speakers in the industry.
I can’t wait to incorporate these newly discovered products into my clients interiors.
1. Profile Fabrics
Profile fabrics displayed an amazing range of boldly coloured commercial grade fabrics. Including a range of plain textured fabrics which are also available in bright colours. This is displayed on the gorgeous couch that I am sitting on. Both ranges are suitable for commercial and domestic upholstery. If you are looking for curtain fabrics for a contemporary room, they have a beautiful range of linen sheers.
2. Tappeti Fine Hand-crafted Rugs + Carpets
This company produce stunning hand-crafted rugs and carpets which are fully customised by colour, size, shape and fibre type and are suitable for the residential and commercial market.
Their rugs are made of an extensive range of fibre types including New Zealand wool, art silk, hemp, cactus, nettle and pashmina. I was delighted by there beautiful range of designs, ranging from organic, geometric, oriental and classic styles. I believe each rug is like a special artwork and would make a magical statement in any room.
3. Oxley/Butterworth
Valissa Butterworth is an up and coming light designer. She explained to me that her gorgeous range of pendant lights are designed on her computer and then are hand made of glass, porcelain, and aluminium. Every pendant has beauty and character and is seen as a high quality art piece.
If you have a specific light design idea, I am sure Valissa can make it happen, as they specialise in customised lighting.
4. Jade + Amber
I think it would be a lot of fun ordering a unique Signature chair from this company. These chairs are designed by Nadia Aber-Griffith and represent style, comfort and elegance. What I loved about these chairs is that every component of the chair can be customised. You can order the chair with or without arms. The back of the chair can be made of wood or acrylic. The seat can be upholstered or made out of acrylic.I can visualise these chairs in domestic and a commercial setting.
5. Buzzi Space
If you want your workplace to have a wow factor, Buzzi Space have clever, stylish and comfortable work stations, sound screens, storage concepts and lighting. Their look is fun and contemporary and will impress your employees and clients. I particularly loved the oversized felt pendant lights, which would look great in a boardroom.
